There is a time of day when the sun sits low on the horizon, preparing to slip below it. The light is warm and golden and somehow you feel closer to eternity. That has always been my favorite time of day and I'm not alone. It's no coincidence that sunsets have been a favorite subject of painters and photographers through the years. The light at that time of day is like no other, except maybe early morning but I'm no morning person so it's sunsets for me. Last summer I have the opportunity to do some outdoor portraits along the riverbank, north of town. With the help of some fill-flash, I got some great spontaneous kid's portraits for my clients; all of it bathed in that beautiful light.
